We love the guys at Wild Card. They’re among the nicest people on the London craft brewing scene, their beer is brilliant and the taproom is probably the best in London!
Hailing from the Midlands, they started brewing in 2014, going from strength-to-strength ever since – with a core range of great looking (and tasting) beers and some lovely session brews (rhubarb pale FTW!) now on offer.
Head brewer, the multi-talented Jaega Wise, also led an all-star cast of UK women in Brewing to come up with the brilliant, limited edition, Unite Rhubarb Pale for this year’s International Women’s day.
Their taproom is great: not only is beer from Wild Card on offer, but there’s also an ever-changing roster of guest beers on tap and in bottles. We counted nearly 60 when we visited! And with regular appearances from DoughBro pizza (what could be better than beer and pizza?) as well as regular DJs and bands, it’s not hard to see why their taproom was voted the Time Out ‘Best Bar in Walthamstow’ in 2016.
There are also regular brewery tours and brewing experience days on offer for those budding brewers out (which we will most definitely be attending soon!).
Ace of Spades | Porter4.7%
Unite Rhubarb Pale | Pale Ale6.5%
Joker | Pilsner - Czech4.4%
Wild Hop IPA | IPA5.1%
Cherry Sour | Fruit Beer5.2%
Jack of Clubs | Red Ale4.5%
A ruby ale featuring malty sweetness from British Crystal malts which gives way to a balanced and lengthy hoppy bitterness from a blend of American hops.
King of Hearts | Blonde Ale4.5%
A light and refreshing blonde beer. Brewed with lager malts and dry hopped
with Citra hops to create a beer that is fragrant, clean and refreshing. See if you can pick up the aromas of gooseberry and papaya along with flavours of citrus fruits, peach, apricot and lychee.
Queen of Diamonds | IPA5.0%
Queen of Diamonds is an ostentatious continuously hopped IPA.
Hops are added continuously throughout the boil, developing a complex
citrus flavour and fresh bitter edge. The beer has flavorings of tropical fruits, nectarines, spice and caramel alongside the aroma of lychee and grapefruit. Lovely! Winner at the Urban Food Awards 2016 in the Beautiful Brew Category.
