First things first, Orbit Beers are cool. Their beers are named after musical influences (we like Neu!, John Peel and Nico) and the beers look really great - we’re in love with their bottle caps! Orbit was founded after owner, Robert travelled around many of the breweries in Scotland in a VW campervan, sampling the best beers in Scotland – and was inspired enough to start his own brewery.

Orbit have created some interesting beers. The ‘Neu Altbier’ is a current favourite at Hoppily HQ: it’s oaty, malty flavour make it complex, unique and very drinkable. And having travelled to Bamburg, the home of the Rauchbier, we can attest that the Orbit interpretation, ‘Leaf’, is great too, with lots of smokiness but not overpowering.

The Orbit philosophy is very close to our own: an emphasis on creating tasty beers to be enjoyed with great music and great company.

Pours pale golden. Fragrant German hop aroma with grassy, herbal and spicy notes. Light on the palate, a touch of bready maltiness, with more assertive hop character. The crisp bitterness makes it eminently drinkable. Look for the cinnamon and pear notes from the distinctive Kölsch yeast. A great beer.
