Brick Brewery

Location:
Peckham, London
Year Founded:
2013
Nearest Station:
Literally next door to Peckham Rye station

Before Brick was born in 2013, owner Ian Stewart used to brew beer in his shed.  They’ve moved on a lot since then and plan to expand their capacity with new premises very soon – enabling them to brew even more great beer!

Brick have a varied core selection of beers: the flagship ‘Peckham Pils’ (which is now available in a 500ml can, just in time for summer picnics and BBQs!) is crisp and refreshing. The ‘Red Brick Rye’, a Hoppily HQ favourite, is deliciously malty and caramelly (we stand by ‘caramelly’ being a bona fide word)!

The taproom, next to Peckham Rye station, is an urban oasis and one of our favourites - particularly on a summer’s evening when they offer fresh, tasty beers alongside incredible BBQ from food residents Slow Richie’s. The taproom is also home to exclusive, limited and test brews that you won’t find anywhere else.

Preferred Pronouns, a Sour New England Pale Ale, is our latest collaboration brewed with The Queer Brewing Project. It’s also the official beer of London Craft Beer Festival 2019.

A Sour New England Pale Ale, this is a beer for fans of hazy, juicy pales and fans of tart, fruity sours. Using a brewing technique called back-souring, by separately brewing a New England Pale Ale and base kettle sour, and then blending them together we have had complete control over the level of acidity and overall balance of the beer.

It’s heavy with tropical fruitiness and extremely refreshing from the slight tartness to lift the juiciness and add a bit of bite. At 4.2% it’s the ultimate tangy, fruity refreshment needed for
