Co-founded in 2006 by Roland Kannor (whose son Ethan is now Head Brewer), the brewery was extended to its current 20BBL capacity in 2008 with the help of Jason Jopson. Jason also organises the increasingly popular annual Brentwood Festival – prominently featuring Brentwood Brewing Co’s beers - and owns The White Horse serving as the Brewery tap.
Brentwood produce a great range of traditional cask-based beers, including the award-winning ‘Brentwood Gold’, and the excellent (but deceptively low alcohol) ‘BBC 1’ and ‘BBC 2’.
The 'other side' of Brentwood Brewing Co is The Elephant School (named for the Essex army regiment school run by the British East India Trading Company), creating a varied range of experimental craft beers including ‘Sombrero’, a Mexican tinged Saison and the brilliant ‘Porter in a Storm’.
